DAMAC Owner Hussain Sajwani Is Developing The Future

Hussain Sajwani is the Founder, Chairman, and majority shareholder of DAMAC Properties. In 2002, the luxury real estate developer was established in Dubai. It has projects in the GCC, the Middle East and the UK. It is responsible for some of the region’s most desirable and iconic properties.

Hussain’s DAMAC International Company Limited and DAMAC Properties Dubai Co PJSC have a joint-venture subsidiary called Nine Elms Property Limited. Nine Elms developed the tallest residential building in London, AYKON London One.

Hussain and Omran have a joint-venture development project called Mina Al Sultan Qaboos. It is being redeveloped into a lifestyle destination and a tourist port with hotels and residences.

Hussain Sajwani owns the development AYKON Maldives Resort through his company DAMAC International Company Limited. It is located in the Maldives archipelago and has a five-star resort hotel with bungalows, 100 luxury suites, and water villas.

Hussain established DICO Investments Co LLC in 1992. It has AED 3 billion in assets. It has debt instruments, long-term investments, strategic holdings, and growth industry subsidiaries.

DAMAC Owner Hussain Sajwani is Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles Co SAOG’s Chairman. It was established in 1998 as the first ceramic tile manufacturer in Oman. Its products are sold under the ‘Al Shams’ brand name. Its first production facility was in Nizwa which used Italian machinery and technical expertise. Local raw materials and Italian and Spanish frits, glazes, and pigments are used in its products.

Al Amana Building Materials Company LLC provides bathrooms, building materials, floors, and surface finishes. One of the majority shareholders is Hussain Sajwani. It provides international brands from the worldwide market to its regional customers.

Hussain is a majority shareholder of the Omani Joint Stock Company, Al Jazeira Services Company.

Hussain Sajwani graduated from the University of Washington. He worked at GASCO as a Contracts Manager for a little while until he established his own catering business in 1982. The business is currently managing over 200 projects that serve more than 150,000 meals every day in different parts of the world. He built hotels in the 90s, and in 2002, he established DAMAC Properties.
