Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade started CAOA in 1979. In six years, this company grew to become the largest Latin American Ford dealership. This corporation founded by Dr. Carlos also became instrumental in tripling Subaru sales and boosting the sale of Hyundai vehicles in the 1990s.
For more than 20 years, CAOA remained the leading Ford dealership in Brazil. This automotive group also became the official and exclusive Subaru and Hyundai importer and distributor in Brazil and opened a Hyundai plant in the Anapolis business district in 2007.
Three years after the Anapolis Hyundai plant opened, Isto É Dinheiro named it the “Empresa do Bem,” which in English could mean “Enterprise of Good.” Part of the reason why is because of this company’s role in reusing automotive waste and advocating Midwest reforestation.
The Carta Capital also honored CAOA by giving it the title of “Most Admired” for three years in a row. This company also became the first non-European Hyundai dealer to receive the Hyundai Motor Co. “Distributor of the Year Award” award and was hand-picked for this recognition from among 179 Hyundai dealerships worldwide.
Additional cars sold by CAOA include the Volester, Sonata, Elantra, Genesis and more. They also distributed various truck models as well as the five- and seven-seat Santa Fe vehicles equipped with the Lambda II 3.3 I engine.
The company that Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade built continues to receive recognition. In 2014, the Hyundai CAOA won a first place Satisfaction Ranking honor issued by the JD Power Institute based on new car buying research survey results.
CAOA also became known for its “most complete energy efficiency laboratory in Latin America” after launching the Research and Energy Efficiency Center in 2015. The Energy Efficiency Center regularly analyzes new vehicles, conducts fuel surveys, and studies future product concepts.
CAOA now has a presence throughout most of Brazil. What is more, this company had plans as of 2017 to join forces with the Chinese Chery vehicle export company.
